Last night, I went along with the Rue Crew for the opening night of Canada’s Wonderland Fearfest. This was the second year of the park holding a Halloween themed event and Gary and I were quite pissed off that we didn’t get to go last year. What can I say other then it was really cool and I actually took some ok pictures considering my novice photographer status. Normally I would go into greater detail, but one of the gifts from last night is a major head cold today because I was not dressed warm enough so my brain is in a bit of a fog.
Here is the basic summary, no lineups meant that we did most of the roller coasters that were open. My favourite was the Italian Job and The Bat almost made me throw up on Brett’s newly coiffed hair. We only checked out a couple of the haunted houses since we spent about two hours doing press stuff and we all wanted to hit the rides. The haunted houses were typical and on par with what Screemers offers every year. As usual I was not too impressed with them. They were OK but nothing as terrifying as the now closed Prudhomme’s Landing Haunted House created by Robert Gibbs. I was acting as the Rue Morgue Photographer (even though Ashlea does a *much* better job at it then I do) and I soon realized that taking night shots, without a tri-pod and not knowing enough about your camera makes it difficult to get a good shot.
I would highly recommend going, but make sure to dress warm because that cold air hits you right around 11:00…around the same time you’re absolutely exhausted from running from ride to ride.
Here are a few choice pictures from the night, and you can see a few more of them here: Canada’s Wonderland Fearfest 2006
